Mrs, Miss o Ms – Quale devo usare?

Posted on Updated on

La differenza è molto semplice:

  • Mrs – Donna sposata
  • Miss – Donna non sposata
  • Ms – Neutro

The difference between these is very simple:

  • Mrs – Married woman
  • Miss – Unmarried woman
  • Ms – Neutral

But which one to use is not always clear. Here’s a simple rule to follow:

If you know that a person wants to be called ‘Mrs’ or ‘Miss’ (from an email signature for example), then use them. Otherwise use ‘Ms’, in this way you are safe because you are using the neutral term and you are not risking upsetting someone who doesn’t want (unsurprisingly) to be distinguished in a way that men aren’t.

Any thoughts or questions feel free to post a comment.
